Well, we're loving the new series of Ashes to Ashes, mainly because of the characters. Mr Hunt remains unapologetically unpc and gets to do loads of handbrake turns in the Quattro. Lovely stuff. And the Billy Joel parody made me smile a lot and point at the telly. By the way, Gordon Brown, I've heard what you've done - stop it at once.
However, I feel the need to moan briefly about the new DW series. I think Matt Smith is a good actor and I can totally believe he is the new doctor, BUT I'm finding the plots so far tedious. Epic storylines with flashing lights and too much shouting. Plot summary : bit of banter in Tardis. Land where something is not right. Most dangerous threat to earth ever about to happen (again) Run and shout a bit. Bang (cue CGI effects). All over. In 40 minutes. Oh, and then some soppy banter at the end. Tune in next week for the same I suspect.
Another space related thing, two weekends ago we watched the space shuttle Discovery lunch from Cape Canaveral in Florida, which was impressive. In fact it came quite close to being "awesome" although I could never say this word in public out of principle. I was told that if I look up in the sky around now I would see an orange streak in the air as it makes it's way to land. Just looked. Nope.
